ACADEMICS

At Heritage, our goal is to educate young people for life. While our program prepares students for college and career very well, it is more important to us that our students understand who they are in Christ and how their Creator has gifted and called them to live God-glorifying lives of service. Our educational distinctives and Portrait of a Graduate help us ensure our curriculum and programs continue to produce the spiritual, academic, personal, and productive outcomes we are seeking.

Educational Distinctives

Excellent Faculty

Our greatest asset at Heritage is our faculty. At few secondary schools will you find a more qualified, godly, and devoted group of adults pouring into and transforming the lives of students year after year.

Biblical Worldview

The Biblical narrative of Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration informs all of life and learning. For this reason, we aim to do more than integrate a Biblical worldview perspective into our teaching and learning. Our goal is to immerse students so that seeing life through the lens of Scripture becomes second nature for them.

Classically-Informed

We follow a classically-informed approach to education, drawing on enduring ideas, texts, and disciplines that have shaped Western learning. Guided by Scripture, our students develop discernment, eloquence, and a love for truth that transcends the modern moment.

STEM-Ready

STEM education at Heritage combines rigorous academics with biblical wisdom. Through AP-level math and science, students cultivate analytical precision and creative problem-solving skills that prepare them for success in top engineering and STEM programs nationwide. Fifty percent of the Heritage Class of 2025 are pursuing STEM studies, many on substantial scholarships.

Senior Thesis

Our year-long, capstone learning experience blends deep research, academic writing, and persuasive speech on a contemporary topic of the student’s choosing.  Students formulate a central thesis or research question and present original findings and analysis. The final product is presented in a formal paper and defended orally before a panel of their peers and faculty members.

Concert Choir

Everyone sings in choir for two+ years, learning the joy and discipline of chorale practice and performance.  The goals of our concert choir include developing vocal techniques, musical expression, and our singers’ collaboration skills. Singers learn to blend their voices, follow a conductor’s guidance, and interpret music expressively.

Advance Placement Courses and Dual Enrollment

One of our goals at Heritage is to give students opportunities to earn college credits prior to graduating. This includes both advanced placement (AP) courses and dual credit courses. Many of our seniors graduate with up to 15 college credit hours that are transferable to the college of their choice.
